Adapting post-op
One-eyed kitten
Mylo seemed to be less worried about his lack of one eye than his human staff - who grieved much more for his loss! Probably he had grown accustomed to loss of sight in the left eye before his operation, but post-op and pain free was enjoying and still is being a little monkey and seeing the look of panic on his staff's faces!
My hair has grown back perfect...you barely notice my constant wink anymore...although I quite liked the mohican look....
At first my jumping attempts weren't too confident (not that they were before) but my perception of depth is fab now...ahh ha I can even reach the kitchen work tops now!
Toys and games really help me improve my co-ordination...especially rod toys and catnip bubbles....oooo yeah...that's my excuse anyway....So yes dad, I really do need all the new toys I get ;o)
I don't go outside alone...I would most likely do as good as any other two-eyed cat, but I've been told under mum's dead body will I be allowed out to get squished by the boy racers...Not that I'm bothered...30mins on the harness and lead is more than enough for me. Its all hype...give me a sofa any day.
Have no peripheral vision on my left side so do sometimes bump that side of my face when having psycho kitty moments...
And I have grown a STRAY WHISKER out of where my eye used to be!!!! No joke! Guess it does help me sense objects close to my face on that side...at times....
Still....enjoy hearing the endearing phrase of "jeezus that had to hurt"!
