Neutering
Mylo's castration (oooo) was successfully performed on the 16th April 07 (as he was over 6 months - the minimum age in the UK). He was also chipped with a Biothem microchip at the same time. This means Mylo's temperature can be taken from the chip rather than from a thermometer up the you know what!
He was taken in at 9am and collected at 5pm hungry and raring to go! The operation did not involve stitches and the 2 wounds were so tiny they couldn't be seen. But none-the-less Mylo was very thankful for the extended pain relief for an additional £4! Was advised to remove his normal cat litter (World's Best) and replace it with shredded newspaper to prevent litter from contaminating the wounds. However, the paper had to be promptly removed due to Mylo's mortification of the exchange and his stubborn refusal to put one paw on ""diirrty, nasty" newspaper. Oh well...only a sprinkle of litter will have to surfice - to his disgust!
As you can see from one of the photo's in Mylo's gallery, he has developed an unexpected behaviour for a neutered male kitten....He seems to be giving his snakey toy extra special loving......From googling the net this seems to actually be quite normal, the advice being to leave him his snakey to avoid him transferring his loving to something else...like a sofa....or human arm! Maybe it is true that the next door neighbour's newborn baby's crying has triggered it - apparently by sounding like a female cat on heat (don't think that I'll mention this to them!)......
aspiring to.....
Canines!
By 29th March 07 his adult canines had broken through next to his baby ones giving him "double canines". The baby ones have now dropped out......where.....who knows! He probably ate them.
I am now proud to add that at one years of age, Mylo allows me to brush his teeth!!! Wouldn't say he particularly enjoys it but I know it does not involve claws and nashing nippers which my other cat mad friends have reported on their attempts. Maybe this explains why Mylo loves me so much (not!). I have been told no wonder why he prefers my cat hating fiance!
